Ice Cream in MetroWest

Rosewood Restaurant in bellingham, Ma is a great ice cream place. It’s a traditional New England ice cream stop and also know for their great fried seafood and onion rings. The resturant is frequented by the boarders and riders at a horse stables just 5 minutes away called Emerald Farms.

Rosewoods has some pretty stiff competiton. Franklin Flatbreads offers great flatbread pizza and fantastic ice cream and is located in Franklin, Ma only a short distance away. The Black Cow Ice Cream in Millis, Ma is known for it’s delicious Ice Cream and Fudge and was selected as a hidden jewel on the phantom gourmet.

Phusion Grille in Woods Hole

The Phusion Grille won’t disappoint. The Phusion Grill is found in a quaint seaside New England town, Woods Hole, but the Phusion Grill is not your typical quaint New England restaurant. . No, the Phusion Grille is a culinary delight with an Asian twist.

I have tried 3 of their dishes the 3 way duck, the shrimp and diver scallop scampi open sandwich, and a special the cinnamon scallops. Al were unpredictional and fantastic. Make a point to go to this resturant if you are in the area.

The Epcot Choice

If you are not looking for a long sit down dinning experience then hands down the food court at the The Land Pavilion wins. It is called the Sunshine Season Food Fair and it has 4 food stations from Asian to grilled salmon to upscale sandwiches. The food quality is great and you can run and go or take a nice long break inside the Pavilion.

Disney World – The Magic Kingdom

I’ve been to Disney World in Florida countless time over the years. During most visits I’ve spent time at the Magic Kingdom, like most visitors. My favorite place to eat in that park is The Crystal Palace. When your tired of either fancy and long sit down restaurants or turkey legs on the run, this place seems to have the perfect mix. It has a nice buffet with both adult and kids food, giving a nice variety of choices. The building is pretty and cool, a welcome break in the middle of a hot day. The cost is moderate from $15 to $30 a person.

It is character dinning, but it can be as low-key or high key as you want for that.

Restaurant 3

Restaurant 3 in Franklin has great atmosphere and food. Recently there have been rumors that it will close. These rumors are false, Restaurant 3 is doing well. Restaurant 3 is part of the SKY Restaurants.

I’ve been to Restaurant 3 many times and had brunch at SKY in Norwood. I don’t know if Restaurant 3 still has their twist on the early bird special 1/2 price appetizers, but that was GREAT. They have fantastic appetizers from Fried Calamari to Thai Chicken Skewer Satay.

The 99 – Solid choice

In one of my previous posts I put the Longhorn at the top of the usual chain restaurants. For all around american food, casual dinning, and the budget minded, the 99 is a solid pick. The menu has nice variety, the food is good, and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Other restaurants in this category would be Applebee’s, Fridays, and Chili’s. Out of these restaurants I most often will choose the 99.

The usual “free” hotel breakfast

We all know the type of free buffet breakfast that hotels offer, they offer cereal, muffins, and different breads to toast. You can get coffee, tea and juice. Most offer something hot, either a make your own waffle or a more extensive line up of eggs, potatoes, bacon. It’s always nice to have the option at your hotel, but lets face it the quality can’t compare to most breakfast joints and certainly not to the Sunday breakfast buffets offered at nicer hotels or restaurants.

The Longhorn Steakhouse

The Longhorn Steakhouse is not your average chain restaurant. I find the quality of the food is fantastic and well above the average chain restaurant. One of my friends is a filet mignon fanatic and when he comes to visit is always looking to go out to the Longhorn for dinner.

However, what prompted me to write about the Longhorn was due to the dinner I had just this week. I met up with a number of friends for drinks and dinner. We started off with boneless buffalo wings. They came out with ample blue cheese and celery sticks and of course wings. The wings were perfect for me, but might be on the mild side for a real wing fan. My main dish was one of the specials a filet mignon topped with caramelized onions and cheese, served with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The other night I had a filet mignon with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The filet mignon cut like butter and melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth and the vegetables were cooked perfectly and very fresh. What’s more the dish was under $20 dollars.

However, I am not of fan of their website. I hate websites with “intro’s” and the site navigation is over styled, s your eye just floats over it.
